I position myself as a specialist in portrait photography—based in Berkhamsted and rooted in a lifetime of telling stories through a lens. My work grew out of a fascination with the craft (from school camera-club chemistry to a career in journalism) and now focuses on creating professional portraits that feel honest, considered and human. Why choose me for your portraits? I combine a journalist’s instinct for the decisive moment with a commercial photographer’s eye for how images work in marketing and on websites. That means I don’t just make a nice picture — I create portraits that communicate competence, warmth and character. I’ve photographed a wide range of people, from business leaders and corporate teams to actors and individuals refreshing their LinkedIn presence. My aim is always the same: to capture the real you, on your best day. My approach is relaxed, conversational and tailored. Sessions can be in-studio in Berkhamsted or on location, depending on what suits your brand and comfort level. Before we shoot I’ll take time to understand how you’ll use the images and what message you want to send — whether it’s a confident executive headshot, a friendly team portrait, or an actor’s headshot with a range of expressions. During the session I give clear direction and create an easy atmosphere so even camera-shy subjects leave feeling positive about the experience. After the shoot, you’ll receive a secure, password-protected gallery to review unedited proofs and select favourites for finishing. My retouching is subtle and professional — enhancing, not transforming. I’m DBS checked and experienced working with people of all ages and abilities, and I take care to make every session respectful and inclusive.
