Tony Angel, an award-winning portrait specialist in Borehamwood, crafts professional headshots and business portraits with relaxed facial-expression coaching, on-site pop-up studio options, and a client-first approach.
Hi — I’m Tony. I specialise in portrait and business photography from my studio in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, just north of London. My focus is simple: to help you present your most confident, authentic self. Over the years I’ve developed a calm, conversational approach and I combine headshot expertise with facial-expression coaching so people who don’t enjoy being photographed actually leave smiling. Why choose me? I’m an award-winning headshot photographer with three decades of experience in the corporate world as a senior manager and consultant. That background means I don’t just make flattering images — I understand how professional portraits are used across websites, LinkedIn profiles, marketing materials and corporate communications. For organisations I offer a pragmatic, efficient service: a portable pop-up studio that brings consistent, high-quality headshots to your workplace with minimum disruption. My style is modern, direct and natural. I favour tightly-cropped, landscape compositions that draw attention to a subject’s expression and presence, but I’ll always adapt to a client’s brief — whether you want a more classic portrait, a full-length environmental shot, or a series that supports your personal or corporate brand. Sessions begin with a relaxed pre-shoot conversation so we can plan wardrobe, background and the mood you want to convey. During the shoot I’ll guide posture, lighting and expression with clear, friendly direction — small adjustments that make a big difference. Working with me is straightforward and personable. For individuals we’ll usually review images at the end of the session so you can pick the shots you love. For companies I provide project management support, wardrobe advice and in-session selection to ensure a consistent look across teams. My aim is always to make the process painless, even enjoyable, while delivering images that build trust and make a memorable first impression. If you’d like to talk about headshots, personal portraits or a corporate headshot programme, get in touch — I’m happy to discuss ideas and tailor an approach that suits you. (I also accept commissions for watch photography and other specialist shoots on request.)
