About the Photographer

13 Years of Experience

I specialise in portrait photography — full stop. Based in Somerville with a studio that serves the Greater Boston area, I make portraits that cut the small talk and reveal the honest, complicated, and often funny person in front of my lens. My work is rooted in documentary training and a long history of editorial portraiture, which means I’m looking for the real moment beneath the pose: the flash of defiance, the relaxed laugh, the gaze that you recognise as yourself. Why choose me? Because I treat portrait sessions as a collaboration. I’ll fully guide you through wardrobe choices, multiple looks, and on-the-day decisions, and I’ll invite you to bring that one thing you wear that just feels like you. I shoot a lot so the camera becomes no big deal—this is how we arrive at images that feel powerful, intimate, and true. Many clients tell me they hate having their photo taken; by the end of our time together they’re usually surprised at how much they enjoyed it and how accurate the images feel. My Somerville studio has seamless and painted backdrops, a dressing/makeup room, and options for professional hair & makeup to meet you onsite. I also create portraits on location in places that matter to you — your home, office, a favourite neighbourhood spot — especially when we’re crafting branding or business headshots that need to say more than “polished.” Whether you want a LinkedIn-ready headshot, a set of professional portraits for your website, or a more expansive branding session, I aim for images that communicate authority without losing humanity. How I work: you’ll get a clear, friendly pre-session guide, direction on outfits and looks, and relaxed coaching during your shoot so you feel comfortable and present. After the session I hand-edit galleries so you can choose the images that best represent you. I photograph authors at conferences, corporate branding days, and individuals who simply want heirloom-quality portraits — the throughline is the same: showing people as they actually are. If you want a portrait that feels like a truthful introduction to the world, let’s talk. My approach is direct, collaborative, and creatively curious — and I can’t wait to make your next favourite portrait.
