I’m David — the photographer behind DK Capture Photography in Bournemouth — and portrait work is what I do best. For more than two decades I’ve built a practice around one simple idea: portraits should feel natural, not staged. Whether it’s a multigenerational family portrait, a playful kids’ session in “The Box”, or a confident business headshot, my aim is to capture the real connection and personality that make each image meaningful. My studio in Northbourne (the little 540sqf “Tardis”) is set up to make sittings easy and comfortable. There’s a dedicated changing room and make‑up area, a large white space for modern, bright portraits, plus creative backdrops, props and playful features like trampolines and giant balls that help children relax and have fun. Pets are welcome, groups of up to 15 are accommodated, and I’ll always work at the pace that suits your family or team. When it comes to business portraits and headshots I focus on purposeful simplicity. A great headshot starts with confidence and approachability — the sort of image that works on LinkedIn, company sites and press materials. I shoot both in-studio and on location, and guide each subject through pose and expression so even camera-shy clients leave with professional, timeless portraits that represent them well. My approach is warm and conversational. I build rapport quickly, give clear direction, and encourage relaxed moments that look and feel genuine. After the session I carefully edit and retouch images, present proofs in a private online gallery and create sample montages to help you choose the strongest images for wall art, web use or social media.
