I’m Juliette Capaldi — a portrait photographer who loves capturing real people in beautiful, soft light. Based in Christchurch Ōtautahi, I specialise in portrait work: relaxed family photography that celebrates connection, and professional business portraits and headshots that present the best version of you and your brand. My approach is intentionally personal. I run intimate sessions that feel more like a relaxed meet‑up than a formal photoshoot. Families tell me afterwards that the experience felt fun and easy, and children often ask, “Can we have another play date with that lady?” For business clients I focus on body language, expression and professional styling so you come away with portraits that are approachable, confident and perfectly suited to LinkedIn, websites and marketing. Stylistically I favour soft, natural light and compositions that tell a story. Whether we’re in my petite studio — which offers a gentle, flattering light and suits small family groups — or outdoors in a favourite Christchurch location, I look for the unguarded moments: the small gestures, the exchanged smiles and the candid details that make an image feel true to life. Working with me is collaborative and straightforward. I’ll guide posing, play with ideas to help everyone relax, and work quickly with children’s natural rhythms. After the session we choose the photographs together so you only invest in the images you love. I produce finished portraits for display in your home and provide thoughtfully prepared digital files to share online. I’m a Master Photographer with the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photographers (NZIPP), and I bring that craft and care to every session. My practice is built around listening to what matters to you — family connection, a polished professional look, or both — and delivering portraits that feel authentic and timeless.
