About the Photographer

Hello — I’m David Lee, a portrait specialist serving Droylsden, Tameside and the wider North West. Portraits are my core focus: I’m obsessed with faces, the small tells that make someone unique and the quiet moments that say more than a posed smile. Whether you need a professional headshot for LinkedIn, an actor or model portfolio update, or a personal portrait to treasure, my approach is the same: keep it real, keep it simple, and make you look like you — only the best version. My studio philosophy is summed up as My Studio – Your Home – On Location. I bring a fully equipped, mobile studio when a home session or workplace shoot suits you, or you’re welcome to visit my space in Tameside. I work with a variety of backdrops and lighting tools so I can deliver everything from bright, commercial headshots to moody, fine-art portraits. Inspiration from photographers I admire has shaped my lighting and composition, but I always aim to create images that feel personal and not overly prescriptive. Working with me is relaxed but productive. Before the shoot we’ll have a quick chat about the look you want — commercial, dramatic, natural or classic — and I’ll guide you through posing and subtle direction so you can feel comfortable. I favour capturing authentic movement and expression over rigid posing; small changes in angle or expression are often where the best portraits come from. On headshot work I focus on lighting and realistic retouching rather than heavy image manipulation, so your photos represent you accurately when clients or casting directors first see you. I also work with businesses for professional portraits and team headshots, providing clean, consistent imagery suitable for websites and press materials. While portraiture is my main speciality, I can tailor sessions to fit corporate needs without losing the natural, human element that makes an image work. If you value honest, well-lit, carefully composed portraits and want someone who will listen to your goals and make the session enjoyable, get in touch. I love collaborating, I’ll give clear guidance on the day, and together we’ll create images that feel true to you and stand the test of time.
