I specialise in portrait photography in Falmouth, concentrating on creating natural, honest images that reveal the true character of the person in front of the camera. Capturing the ‘essence’ of a subject is my driving focus: whether you need a confident business portrait for LinkedIn, a refined headshot for a company website, or a personal studio portrait, my aim is always the same — images that look natural and feel genuine. My approach is grounded in natural light. I believe that the right light, used with care, produces photographs that are both flattering and authentic. Sometimes a shoot will call for studio lighting, and I’m happy to bring that technical control when needed, but my preference is to work with the light available and shape it to suit the mood you want to convey. Over many years and across many industries I’ve learned how small adjustments to light, pose and composition change how a subject is perceived — and how to make those adjustments without losing the person’s true presence. For camera-shy clients I use a gentle, conversational style to ease nerves and create natural expressions; for confident clients I refine pose and eye contact to produce images that say exactly what they need to.
