Specialist portrait photographer in Ferndown offering relaxed studio and on-location sessions, professional headshots for LinkedIn, and natural, confidence-building portraits delivered with photokindness.
Hello — I’m Mark, the photographer behind Photokind. I’ve been making portraits for more than 25 years and I’ve built a simple philosophy: photography should be kind. That means creating flattering, natural images that reflect who you really are, delivered with transparent pricing and a friendly, unpressured approach. Based in Ferndown with a home studio in Bear Cross, Bournemouth, I specialise in portrait photography and professional headshots for individuals and businesses. Why choose Photokind for your portrait or headshot? I focus on people. My experience spans casual portraits, family moments and business-facing headshots, but my core expertise is portraiture — getting the best version of you on camera. Whether you need a warm, approachable LinkedIn photo or a confident corporate headshot, I work to create images that help you connect. My style favours natural light, gentle direction and a conversational manner that helps even the most camera-shy clients relax. How I work: sessions are tailored to you. You can visit my Bear Cross studio, I can come to your home with portable lighting, or we can meet at a favourite local spot. Before the shoot we discuss what you want to achieve — the intended use of the images, the tone you’re after and any wardrobe or background preferences — so every session is crafted to your needs. On the day I guide you through simple poses and expressions, keep the atmosphere light and kind, and focus on capturing genuine moments as well as polished, professional frames. I believe in clear, fair pricing and a straightforward process. Photokind also gives back locally: I occasionally offer complimentary family portrait sessions and concessions for income-sensitive households because photography should be accessible. If you have specific requirements for business portraits — team shoots or individual headshots — I’ll work with you to plan a smooth, efficient session that delivers consistent, professional results. If you’d like portraits that look and feel like you — photographed with experience, warmth and a little photokindness — get in touch. I’m always happy to talk through ideas, suggest locations, and help you feel confident and comfortable in front of the camera.
