As a Gloucester portrait specialist, Photophillip creates professional headshots, LinkedIn-ready business portraits and passport/application photos. Expect a relaxed studio session and natural, confident results.
I’m Philip, the photographer behind Photophillip, and I specialise in portrait photography from my studio in Gloucester. My work focuses on producing professional, authentic portraits — from business headshots and LinkedIn images to passport and application photos — that show the real you with clarity and confidence. What sets my portrait work apart is a blend of technical training and a people-first approach. After vocational training and further education to master-photographer level, I opened my own studio and have since developed a calm, conversational shooting style that relaxes clients and captures genuine expressions. I’ll take time to understand how you want to be seen — whether you need a polished corporate headshot, a team portrait, or a warm family image — and tailor the session to suit that goal. In the studio I use lighting and simple direction to bring out natural features and a professional look without forcing poses. My process begins with a short consultation so I can recommend styles, backgrounds and wardrobe tips that work for your industry or personal brand. During the shoot I guide you gently, offering clear cues and encouragement so even camera-shy clients leave feeling comfortable and confident. Post-shoot, I carefully select and edit the best images, applying natural retouching to ensure a clean, professional finish while preserving real character. For business clients I aim for images that work across LinkedIn, websites and press materials; for passport and application photos I ensure compliance and accurate representation. If you have a specific brief — creative portraiture or a series of consistent corporate headshots — I’ll work with you to deliver cohesive results. My studio is part of the Blue Crane creative space in Gloucester, where I also curate gallery exhibitions and run street-art tours. Those artistic projects feed my portrait practice, keeping my eye fresh for composition, colour and storytelling. Whether you’re booking a single headshot or arranging portraits for a whole team, I bring professional experience, a relaxed atmosphere and an eye for authentic, flattering results. Get in touch to discuss your portrait needs — I’ll listen, plan, and make sure you leave with images that represent you at your best.
