I like to “shoot”. Portrait photography is at the heart of what I do — whether that’s a relaxed actor headshot, a LinkedIn-ready business portrait or a fashion/model session. Based between Hartlepool and London, I work from my home studio, The Rabbit Hole, and on location across the north-east. My aim is simple: create images that reflect the personality and presence of the person in front of the camera. Why choose me for your portrait? I approach portrait work as a collaborative, creative process. Before we shoot I like to chat and plan so we’re on the same page; the more planning we do, the better the results. I’ve found three hours is my magic number for a shoot — time enough to get comfortable, experiment with lighting and composition, and capture a range of looks without feeling rushed. My style tends toward cinematic, sometimes theatrical — images that can be dark and moody or light and dreamlike depending on the brief. How I work: shoots are friendly and conversational. I aim to put people at ease, helping even the camera-shy feel natural. In The Rabbit Hole you’ll find backdrops, props and lighting that let us create distinctive portraits, while my mobile studio setup allows for professional on-location headshots and business portraits when required. For actor and model work we often borrow stylist and MUA talent from my network to create magazine-quality images that are ready for portfolios, press or promotion. I’m proud of the craft — photography that’s built from experience since 2011, attention to lighting, deliberate editing and a desire to make each image as individual as the subject.
