I’m Marietta Balassa and portrait photography is my passion. Based in a comfortable home studio near Hertford and proudly serving Hoddesdon and the surrounding towns, I specialise in studio portraits that feel modern, relaxed and very informal — with lots of fun involved. With more than a decade of experience and professional recognition from BIPP, SWPP and the Guild of Photographers, I focus on bringing out each person’s character, whether you need a confident LinkedIn headshot, a creative model portfolio or a timeless fine art portrait. My approach is personal and collaborative. We start with a pre-session conversation so I can understand your goals, the look you want and any styling preferences. On the day I guide you through natural, flattering poses and create a calm atmosphere — especially useful if you’re not used to being in front of the camera. I work with soft, controlled studio lighting and considered backdrops to craft images that sit beautifully on a wall or across your professional profiles. As a portrait specialist I blend technical expertise with an artist’s eye. My fine art work uses darker tones, single-light setups and careful styling to reveal personality and emotion, while my business portraits emphasise clarity, approachability and the kind of presence that performs well on websites, company bios and LinkedIn. I also enjoy creative portrait themes — from classic 50s pin-up styling to boudoir-influenced looks — always tailored to your comfort and brief. You’ll receive a thoughtfully edited gallery in a private proofing area and a relaxed viewing session where we choose the final images and discuss how best to present them in your home or for your business. 1.5–2 hour wrapped baby session in studio. 5 digital images. Suitable for babies up to 8–9 weeks.
Studio maternity session — 1 hour, 15 edited images, private online gallery and 5 digital images included.
Small digital package for fine art sessions: 5 high-resolution digital images with print release and USB.
Full newborn experience: 3–4 hour studio session with parents/siblings/pets included, 10 edited digital images, wooden USB and viewing session.
