Hi — I’m Emily. I specialise in studio portraiture and headshot photography for actors and creatives, working from Horsforth and across Yorkshire. Having trained and worked as an actor myself, I know exactly what casting directors look for and how nerve‑wracking sitting for a headshot can feel. That insider perspective shapes everything I do: I aim to make sessions relaxed, purposeful and enjoyable while helping you present your truest self on camera. My approach is rooted in conversation and collaboration. Rather than asking you to ‘pose’, I talk, joke and give gentle direction to evoke genuine expressions and small moments of connection. Over 14 years behind the camera I’ve developed a way of working that suits people who are camera shy and those who are confident alike — the goal is always a set of images that feel like you and that make a clear, lasting impression. I focus on creating clean, versatile portraits and headshots that work for casting, portfolios and creative profiles. In the studio I pay close attention to lighting, expression and simple styling so each image reads immediately and honestly. I’ll guide you on wardrobe choices and how to vary energy across looks, and there’s useful pre‑shoot guidance so you arrive feeling prepared rather than overwhelmed. Working with me is straightforward and friendly. Sessions are relaxed but efficient: we explore a few different looks, find the right tones and expressions, and refine until we have images that tell your story. Many clients value the calm, encouraging atmosphere I foster — I’m used to people arriving nervous and leaving smiling, often surprised at what they can achieve with a little direction.
