I specialise in portrait photography — it’s the core of my practice and what I love to do. With over 40 years working with people and images, my greatest desire is to produce special memories for you to cherish. Whether you prefer the controlled environment of my studio, the familiarity of your home, or a quiet local venue in London, I aim to create portraits that reflect who you really are. My approach is calm, patient and people-focused. I know many clients feel camera-shy, so I work conversationally to put you at ease, suggesting natural poses and small adjustments rather than rigid directions. For children I take a child-led approach: allowing their character to come through while using toys and a relaxed atmosphere to turn the session into an enjoyable experience. I hold a current DBS and follow GDPR and good-practice guidelines when photographing children. Technically I bring a full professional kit and studio lighting to every shoot, giving me control over mood, tone and clarity. I also carry my experience in advanced editing and retouching — from sensitive, natural enhancements to more stylised looks when required. Retouching is always handled with care so the final image still feels like you, not an over‑processed version. Working with me is straightforward and collaborative. We begin with a friendly conversation about your aims and style preferences so the shoot is tailored to what you want to achieve. After the session I present your images in a secure, password‑protected gallery so you can review them privately and choose the final selects. I’m happy to discuss prints, albums and digital deliverables to suit the way you intend to keep and share your portraits. While portrait photography is my primary focus, I also provide business portraits and professional headshots for LinkedIn or company use as an additional service. These are delivered with the same attention to lighting, composition and tasteful retouching, while keeping the emphasis on authenticity.
