I’m Monty Key — a Manchester-based portrait photographer working from a comfortable home studio in Longsight and on location across the city. Portrait photography is my core focus: I specialise in studio sessions, portfolio shoots and professional headshots that show personality, purpose and polish. My journey began experimenting with phone and borrowed cameras and grew through studio experience in Manchester. That hands-on learning shaped a practical yet creative style: clean compositions, thoughtful use of light, and an emphasis on authentic expression. In the studio I control the environment so we can focus on mood, subtle lighting and refined retouching. On-location sessions capture context and atmosphere when you want portraits with a sense of place—Manchester’s streets and cityscapes are familiar ground for me. How I work with you: we start with a short conversation to understand your goals—personal branding, modelling portfolio, or business headshots. I’ll offer guidance on wardrobe, poses and locations, then we shoot in a relaxed, collaborative session where I coach and prompt to capture natural moments. After the shoot I carefully select and edit the best images, delivering polished, high-resolution files ready for print or use online. My editing aims to enhance, not overpower, so your portraits retain a genuine feel.
