About the Photographer

I’m Paul Quirk — a portrait photographer who loves photographing people. Based in a small, bijou studio at my home in Lower Earley, I specialise in creating portraits that deserve a place on your wall. My work is rooted in a belief that great portraiture should be simple, emotive and carefully crafted: a quiet moment, the catchlight in an eye, the honest expression that says more than words. Why choose me for your portrait? I approach every session as an opportunity to make something beautiful and lasting. As a Dad and proud Grandad I understand how precious family moments are; that sense of care informs everything I do. I’m a member of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP) and the Baby and Newborn Photography Association (BANPAS), and I hold an Enhanced DBS certificate — commitments that reflect my professional standards and safe, respectful approach when photographing children. My style is classic, focused on the face and the light. I work to create clean, timeless images — from expressive business headshots to emotive family portraits and the striking monochrome Baby Face portraits that emphasise eyes, expression and character. I favour a calm, conversational approach in the studio so even camera-shy clients relax and real moments emerge. Lighting is used with intention to sculpt features and create images that read beautifully both as single portraits and as framed sets. How I work is straightforward and personal. Sessions take place in my purpose-designed studio where I aim to put clients at ease from the moment they arrive. We work together to find the right expressions and subtle poses; I guide, encourage and keep things light and fun—especially with children. After the shoot I carefully edit images and guide you through a viewing and selection process so you can choose the pieces that best tell your story. Many clients choose bespoke framing or wall art so their portraits become heirlooms rather than files on a screen. If you’re looking for a portrait specialist in Lower Earley who values craft, safety and the human connection behind every image, get in touch. I love helping families and professionals create portraits that feel honest, considered and beautifully made.
